About NU CGPA Calculator
Who Built This?
NU CGPA Calculator was designed and built by Kawsar Arafat, a developer based in Bangladesh. This project grew out of a simple frustration — calculating your NU CGPA manually is tedious, error-prone, and time-consuming. There had to be a better way.
The work that followed was not a weekend job. Every course code, course name and credit value was transcribed one entry at a time from the official National University syllabus portal — 2,288 course entries across 91 departments and 328 individual academic years, covering both the 2024–2025 and the 2013–2014 syllabuses. Nothing here was scraped from another calculator or copied from a coaching-centre handout.
The calculator then grew around that data: each department gets its own page, and each academic year of each department gets its own, because a first-year Physics student and a third-year Physics student are looking at genuinely different papers. What you get is the same syllabus your college follows, already loaded — you only supply the grades.
Why Was It Built?
Every year, hundreds of thousands of students across Bangladesh enrol in National University programmes. Yet there was no reliable, department-specific tool to help them track their academic performance in real time — only generic calculators that required manually looking up credit hours and grade point values.
This calculator solves that. It knows your exact syllabus — every course, every credit — so you do not have to look anything up. Select your department, enter your grades, and your GPA and CGPA are calculated instantly using the official NU 4.00-point grading scale.
How the Syllabus Data Is Verified
Every course code, course name, and credit value in this calculator is transcribed directly from National University's official syllabus portal — not from third-party summaries or coaching-center notes.
